Scheppach HMS 1080 10" Planer Thicknesser

The HMS1080 from Scheppach is a combined planer thicknesser with table made of die-cast aluminum for demanding do-it-yourselfers and the best planing results. The compact device with vibration-damping rubber feet enables not only effortless, but also vibration-free dressing and planing. On the HMS1080, the surface planer is integrated into this combination planer above the thicknesser. The surface planer is used to produce flat surfaces, especially in the case of warped and crooked wood or for the dressing of boards, planks or squared timbers. For this purpose, the piece of wood is guided over the planing table made of die-cast aluminum, with the two planing knives straightening the underside of the wood with a maximum chip removal of 2 mm. With the help of the 540 mm long dressing stop, exact 90 ° angles or any angles up to 135 ° can be created. After the dressing, the workpiece is planed. For this, the planing table and the suction nozzle are moved upwards. The two HS planer knives now decrease by up to 2 mm on the top of the workpiece, which is guided through the thicknesser by means of an automatic feed at 6.4 m / min. The maximum passage height for the HMS1080 is 120 mm. The desired plane thickness can be set with a hand crank and remains constant during the entire work process. In this way, several workpieces can be brought to the same thickness one after the other - very advantageous e.g. when processing floorboards. The 1500 watt motor drives the cutterblock, which reaches a speed of 9000 min-1. The high speed of the knife shaft leads to very fine surfaces and quick processing. The two hard metal knives are used for both dressing and planing. A generous extraction nozzle with an outer diameter of 98 mm for external dust extraction ensures that the chips are removed from the work area and the air in the workshop remains dust-free.
